Wightlink Meet the Team

Wightlink Meet the Team

You may recall we had hoped to hold our WUG social at Quay Arts on the 1st November but when approached the manager of QA declined as WL not only sponsor visiting artists but also reduce travel costs for a select few QA Islanders to attend mainland Arts . They said it would be a conflict of interest.

We now find out that the new format of the Forum will be a ‘Meet and Greet’ between 17.30 and 19.30 on the 30th October. Guess where the location will be?

We encourage ALL WUG members to attend the WL meet and greet to allow our muted voices be heard! We do not have to book.

We hope to have a large number of us attend.

Next Meet the Team event: 30 October at Quay Arts

Location: Quay Arts

15 Sea Street, Newport, PO30 5BD

Time: 17:30 to 19:30

Our Meet the Team event is our chance to hear from you, our frequent customers, on how we can further improve the service we offer.

You’ll have the opportunity to meet a range of members from our Senior Team who each specialise in areas of the business, from customer service to operations. Come along to ask questions, discuss areas of concern and suggest changes you think will make our service better.

We’re hugely grateful for the feedback we receive and look forward to seeing some of you at the next session.

Attending Meet the Team

Meet the Team events will be run as open sessions, so there’s no need to let us know you’re coming. Each event is in-person and will run outside of typical working hours, ensuring we can welcome as many of you as possible to share your thoughts with us.

There’s no need to attend from the start of each session – simply drop in a time that works for you within the two hour window.

Dates and further details for upcoming events are listed below.

HOME NEWS ABOUT Dear Stug Supporter, If you can all recall, after the meeting in Cowes, last Spring, with the Maritime minister, it was suggested that we would be invited to a group with the DfT, focused on cross Solent transport. Since then, things have been very quiet, despite our repeated requests for updates. This past week there has been movement. We are now invited to a group, which will meet monthly for six months. This group aims: ‘To explore and address key issues affecting car and...

HOME NEWS ABOUT Dear All, A belated Happy New Year to you! Our news for 2026 is that we have been included on the Solent Transport Infrastructure Forum being chaired by Brian Johnson. We have also had an initial meeting with Fran Collins and Neil Chapman from Red Funnel, we are hopeful that this relationship will be as fruitful as the one with Wightlink. We have dates for regular meetings throughout the year....

HOME NEWS ABOUT Many of the committee attended the Wightlink Forum on 22nd October. Some of the things discussed: Sunset Flyer hours have been improved/extended for winter (until end of December). We have had assurances that staff will be on hand to help with luggage, push chairs etc on the Fastcat. The management are acutely aware how difficult it can be, they are hoping and trying to...
